Bitvavo Listing Radar.
Discovering new crypto listings without having to search for them myself.
The challenge.
New crypto assets and listings appear regularly, but continually checking different sources by hand is impractical. I wanted an automatic notification whenever something new appeared. I started with Bitvavo, which is where the name Bitvavo Listener came from. I found a listings page that kept changing but offered no notifications.
From challenge to software.
I built a simple app and backend for this. Listing Radar automatically checks several data sources and compares new results with previously stored data. When it detects a new listing or a status change to an existing listing, the backend sends a push notification to the app through Firebase.
My role
I developed the monitoring logic, backend, database, notifications and Flutter app myself.

Connecting the parts.
The Python backend runs periodic checks and stores snapshots of the data it finds in SQLite. It compares new results with earlier snapshots. Firebase Cloud Messaging then delivers notifications to registered devices.

Technical challenges
One important challenge was preventing the same listing from being treated as new more than once. Monitoring also needed to remain reliable when external sources were temporarily unavailable.
What I learned.
This project taught me a lot about background processes, data comparison, error handling and push notifications.
